I don't know how many people still read this blog, or have it on their RSS feeds, but I have some sad news to share.
On Saturday, April 1, 2006, my mom lost her three-year battle with breast cancer. We will be having a memorial - a Celebration of Life - on Sunday, April 30th.
I will be turning over the front page of my web site in order to disseminate changing information about the service in the most timely manner. This blog will resume sometime in May. Or not, since I haven't really been keeping it up. I'll make that decision when the time comes.
On other, happier news, James and I bought a house in February. I had hoped to post some photos here. Again, maybe in May. If you'd like our new address, please use the email link.
Posted by Karen at April 5, 2006 07:32 PMDear Karen,
Jenny, Curtiss and I are in disbelief that Lonnie has passed away. She meant a lot to us over the last 13 years, and will be eternally missed. Please let me know what I can do to help with the potluck if you need assistance. My 4H friend Mindy suggested it be a big Dime a dip, proceeds going to the council. Since it is going to be a pot luck, will someone set up an alphabetical arrangement for who brings what?
Our heartfelt condolences to your sisters and father.
love,
Diane

Posted by: Ealasaid at April 6, 2006 04:32 PMOh Karen, I am so sorry for your family's loss...
Posted by: Jodi at April 6, 2006 05:36 PMKaren: words can not express my sorrow at the loss of Lonnie. I can still see her smile and hear her laugh. I often had contact with her even though I was "south county", and had the opportunity to work with her on the 4-H exchange to Maryland. Her legacy is the impact she had on all who she touched, expecially the youth of our county. Because of her, the world was a little brighter. My thoughts and prayers go out to your family, she will be missed by all. Sincerely, Marcia Linden Adams 4-H
